| The umbrella industry assembles mainly in Songxia
Town of Shangyu City. It has more than ten years¡¯ history
of manufacturing umbrellas and has had mature production techniques
and sale channels. It now has 1050 umbrella making companies
and over 15,800 people involve in this industry. In 2003,
one third of the town¡¯s resident income come from the umbrella
industry. As a pillar industry, the umbrella section realized
last year a production value of 3.43 billion yuan RMB, a sales
value of 3.25 billion yuan RMB, occupying 57.3% of the town¡¯s
total industrial production and 58.1% of the town¡¯s industrial
sales. |
