An Album of Shangyu




Located in the Northeast of Zhejiang Province, Shangyu is 62km away from Ninbo Port to the east and 72km from the provincial capital Hangzhou to the west. Neighboring Hangzhou Bay to its north, it is seperated from Shanghai by the water. With a total area of 1427 km2, Shangyu has a population of 780 thousand, covering 21towns under its jurisdiction. It is a part of the Yangtze River Delta Economy and is also one of the earliest coastal opening cities approved by the State Council.

As a subtropical area, Shangyu has a humid monsoon climate. With abundant sunshine and rain, the weather is usually is 16.40¡æ and the annual average precipitation is 1400mm.
